US-412 at 4170 Rd.

History

Project History

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has been working jointly with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) since Fall 2022 on the US-412 corridor. Studies are being completed in response to a federal mandate in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to upgrade US-412 to an interstate highway from I-35 in Noble County, Oklahoma, to I-49 in Benton County, Arkansas, 190 miles. Before portions of US-412 can be resigned to I-42 (the future interstate number), upgrades must be made to make the roadway interstate compliant.

Since 2023, ODOT has conducted multiple public outreach meetings with the communities along US-412, including the Inola area in Rogers County. Comments received pertaining to the section that includes the US-412 and 4170 Rd. supported the need for a grade-separated crossing.
